The top Talalay layer gives the mattress its immediate feel. Soft offers more give, Medium adds resistance, and Firm creates a steadier surface. This is a useful place to begin when deciding how much cushioning you enjoy.

Some people love a soft surface. Others want a little more resistance. The Alexa Sleep Customizable Talalay Latex Mattress lets you choose both the comfort you feel first and the support underneath it. Three individual 3-inch Talalay latex layers sit inside a quilted zippered cover, creating a 10-inch mattress you can configure from the inside out.
Talalay has a buoyant, responsive feel. It cushions as you settle in and responds as you move, making it an appealing option if you prefer a gently lifted sensation to the closer embrace of memory foam. Here, Talalay runs through all three layers: comfort, transition and support.
Choose Soft, Medium or Firm in each position. Keep one shared feel across the mattress, or select separate firmness combinations for each sleeper on Queen, King and California King. Your size sets the price; the available firmness choices are included.

Your final feel comes from the whole stack. Start with the surface, then fine-tune how the layers underneath respond.
The top Talalay layer gives the mattress its immediate feel. Soft offers more give, Medium adds resistance, and Firm creates a steadier surface. This is a useful place to begin when deciding how much cushioning you enjoy.
The middle Talalay layer connects surface comfort with the foundation. Its firmness helps shape how deeply you settle into the mattress. Pair a softer top with a Medium transition, or choose more resistance through the middle.
The bottom layer supports the layers above it. The starting build uses Firm Talalay here, and you can select Soft or Medium if you prefer a different combination. All three positions use Talalay latex, including the base.
A quilted zippered cover finishes the 10-inch profile. Peach, sage and blue identify firmness in the builder; they are a visual guide, not the actual latex colors.
Think about the bed you sleep on now. Would you like more cushioning at the surface, less sinking, or a firmer feel throughout? Change one layer at a time in the visual builder to keep the comparison simple.
Begin with Soft / Medium / Firm, listed from top to bottom. This is our starting configuration: a yielding surface, a balanced middle and a firmer foundation.
Explore Medium / Medium / Firm if you want to reduce the softness at the surface while keeping the same transition and support choices.
Explore Medium / Firm / Firm for more resistance beneath the top layer. You can also select Firm at the surface if you prefer less give there.
These combinations are starting points, not a universal firmness prescription. Your build, usual sleep position and personal preference all influence how a mattress feels. If you sleep on your side, consider how much give you like around your shoulders and hips. If you sleep on your back or stomach, think about whether you prefer to rest closer to the surface. Our team can help you compare the choices before you order.
A customizable latex mattress gives couples room to disagree about firmness. On Queen, King and California King, Split comfort lets each sleeper choose Soft, Medium or Firm independently for all three layers.
One side can start with Soft / Medium / Firm while the other uses Medium / Firm / Firm. The image shows both sides, and the order summary records each person’s combination so you can review the details together.
Split comfort means different internal layer choices within one mattress. It does not mean two independently moving mattresses or a split adjustable base. Twin, Twin XL and Full use one shared comfort configuration.

The right choice starts with the sensation you enjoy. Latex offers a buoyant response; memory foam offers a closer contour. Both Alexa Sleep builders let you personalize comfort, with different levels of adjustment.
This mattress uses Talalay latex in every layer and lets you change firmness at all three levels. It suits shoppers who want to fine-tune the entire stack and prefer a springy, gently cushioning material.
Talalay refers to a latex manufacturing process that includes vacuum expansion and freezing before the foam is cured. The resulting cellular structure is associated with its consistent, airy feel. It is a process name, not a firmness rating: Talalay can be Soft, Medium or Firm.
Our customizable foam mattress offers a softer gel memory foam top or a slightly firmer copper gel top, over a shared transition layer and support core. It gives you a simpler choice at the surface.
If that sounds more like your preferred feel, compare the Customizable Gel Memory Foam Mattress. You can explore both designs and save a separate build for each one on this device before deciding.
